Yes, lexapro gave me insomnia, so my doctor said to take it only in the morning and then take a sleeping pill called amitriptyline 25mg before bed. This helped for a better nights sleep

You could try taking the lexapro at different times of day, like at night if you take it in the morning, and vice versa. Sometimes, you gotta experiment with your routine. Melatonin is a good thing to take when your insomnia is extra bad. If you take it too often, your body will get used to it, and it will stop being effective, so use it when you think you really need it.
