7 months without a period, what could be the cause?

So I have always been irregular but this time I am going on 7 months with no period. I’m not pregnant but before this happened I was trying for a baby around July and august and September of last year was my last period and idk what’s going on. Any suggestions as to what it may be

I went through long stretches with no period, and when I got periods, they were often really heavy and painful, to the point that I had to get up several times in the night and I couldn't go anywhere. There are some possible explanations. In my case, it turned out that I had cancer in my uterus and needed a total hysterectomy. Before they knew, my doctor had suggested birth control pills. I insisted that first I wanted to know the cause, and that is when they found the cancer. Not saying that's what it is, because there are other explanations, but it might be worth a look. Wishing you all the best. ❤️

I was on birth control for a year to make it regular which worked for three months after I got off of it then after September it never came back. That actually worries me cause my mom had cancer cells in her uterus at one point years back
