My Experience with Jaw Surgery and JRA

I have had my first surgery in 1992-3. I was 23 at the time. It was a Le Fort I, Bilateral osteotomy. This is a surgery done because my JRA appeared in my jaw joints first and created erosion my my condyles of Both joints. It changed your facial appearance and actually it only helps for a very short period of time. I am due now for another jaw surgery and I am not looking forward to it.
