Should I Keep Things to Myself in Therapy?

I'm not officially diagnosed, but my doctor said my results are very high in similarities to depression, anxiety, and Tourettes syndrome; I have a therapy appointment soon, should I keep certain things to myself?

You should be as honest as you possibly can be.

No, you shouldn’t have to. The more open you are, the more successful you will become in life and therapy.

I would share what you sre comfortable with, but the more you share the more the therapist will know to help you out.

therapists can be super weird about self-dx, but in this case, i think you should definitely tell them. a good therapist will want to be in communication with other professionals on your care team, know what tests you’ve taken, and want to take into account all your medical history along with your personal history! & also, it gives them a better idea of where you are in the diagnosis process, which means that you won’t have to go thru things you’ve already done, retake tests, etc
