Klonopin for Anxiety: Is it Worth the Side Effects?

hi, i just recently started taking klonopin for my anxiety which has been so bad that i could barely leave the house. the prescription was 1/2 - 1 tablet daily so i take them in the morning. the first day i took a a whole tablet because my anxiety was really bad & i work i a stressful environment & it made me so loopy! my brain did not work & i felt absolutely stupid. my memory of yesterday is gone. however! the anxiety was GONE. it helped SO much. i’ve never felt less anxious. but is it worth feeling like i can’t function? so this morning i took a half a tablet & i’m gonna wait to see side effects. has anyone else had this experience?

I frequently take halfs to start with, to avoid it making me super sleepy. I don't take daily though, only as needed. Benzo's like Clonazepam are pretty strong, so usually after an acute period, you can find something in a different class that works for management. You do get a little bit of a tolerance. First couple times you take it will knock ya out.

Thank you very much, I have found a different medication that I am researching that is less addictive and has very little side effects, it's called Buspar.

I've taken 2 mg Klonopin for 15 yrs. 3x a day or as needed, I take as needed, not even 3x a day. Klonopin don't taste & u can let them melt in your mouth, they work faster then most meds for anxiety because there used for seizures to.

We have alot in common! I only .5 up to twice a day or sometimes one whole tablet but i try not to do that. .5 is normally enough. I take it for driving anxiety. I also use these “watches” that are tappers that alternate vibrations that help but are expensive.

What are watches that are tappers found? I have never heard of it.

Lookup touch point solution. They are these little sqaures that vibrate and you can turn them into watches and wear them or put them in your pocket or hold them. Idk why my therapist calls them tappers.
