Knee Pain After TKR Surgery: Need Advice

hello. I had a TKR , Total knee replacement surgery done 3 years ago. I've lost weight since then. I'm now starting to experience knee pain mostly on the inner part of my knee, it's stiff and hurts to walk. I also have a fallen arch on the same leg. I know I need to get better shoes with better arch support but they are so expensive. any ideas on what I should do ?

Gentle massage, arch insoles, and moist heat should help.

Im sorry you had to have a TKR and are experiencing pain like that. My son had his ACL and meniscus completely replaced. I know it's not the same as a TKR, but I am following the thread for ideas to help his pain as well. He also has a fallen arche.

I too had a TKR because my systemic infection, and RA. It's been over 7 years, and I have to say, yes, that knee hurts some days. The best thing I have found that helps range of motion physical therapy in a therapy pool. I am very fortunate that the P.T. place I go to has a treadmill IN the pool. I healed something faster being able to use that. Being on an anti-inflammatory specific diet is just helpful overall. It's recommended to use the Mediterranean diet which is largely anti-inflammatory. For those who, like me, cannot tolerate fish, there are other options. Combating the despair, depression, and overall hopelessness, I highly recommend seeing a counselor who specializes in chronic illness. I am not vigilant with the "positive self talk" to ward off self defeating behaviors. I'm making a concerted effort "again". I'll let you know... lol. Those are just a few suggestions. Meditation, breathing exercises, and very basic yoga have been great for me in the past. I say the more holistic you can be (I know most of us have to be on medication just to get out of bed, myself included). It's true that no one will fully "get"us and what we go through, but that's why this app is so great. We keep perspective when we share experiences. I'm here for all Y'all. Oh, and I highly recommend having a pet, of any kind. I never fully knew unconditional love and comfort until I got my dog. God bless everyone 🙏

I can't tolerate fish either. Would you share the alternatives that you use/eat?
