Living with Chronic Pain: My Story

Hello all! I am new here. I have rheumatoid arthritis, chronic back and right sidelnerve pain and fibromyalgia. My “everywhere pain hurts” from my head down to my feet. I don’t know if it is in combination with my chronic back and nerve pain that affects my right side of my body or the weather. It is extremely cold here and snowing. If I stay wrapped in my heated throw, I feel better. But, as soon as I get up I am in severe pain everyday. I stretch and exercise everyday including aquatic water therapy 3 days a week. I removed all gluten from my diet and all meats as I cannot digest them no matter how much I chew or grind up my food. I have terrible gas to the point when I try to go to the bathroom, the gas is so strong, it makes me sweaty, feel like I could pass out. I have no strength. I talked to my doctor and she suggested that I remove all meat after I started a food journal from my diet along with gluten as I have too much inflammation in my blood. Anyone else feel like this??

Welcome Julie_Marie, I do experience some of what you are going through. The gas the pain from head to toe and anything in between nothing but pain. I use the heating pad alot that helps me a lot I try eating GF but nothing since I am a cancer patient and still during chemo I get to blame everything on the cancer. I hope you feel better to some degree. Bossy.

I also have the pain symptoms and because of the pain level I am at I can't walk far at all, steps are a major problem as well..the weather severely either makes my day...or not. Because of my limitations now I am experiencing depression as well...I have 7 grandchildren that I can't participate in playing with or say even going to a park or a zoo experience... my heart doctor also told me no meat, did that help taking the meat away? Bossy I wish you well also... 🙏💕

Yes, removing all meat from my diet has helped immensely!

I’m with you on all of it. In my experience, diet changing has made no difference really - if I go vegetable heavy, I have more gas and bloat and a little better transit. If I less veggies/healthy, slower transit but less distension. The pain is more or less constant but one thing that helps a little is continually reminding myself that I am okay. It’s like my brain remembers what it’s like not to be in pain and reminding myself that I’m not in disaster mode, eases things a little.

Hi everyone......new here and I am riddled with pain everywhere from the fibromyalgia. Recently diagnosed diabetic Type 2 last summer 2021 and trying to balance everything has been mind boggling. I retired in October 2017 to take care of my Mom that had dementia and she ended up passing in January 2018. I go to sleep in pain, use the bathroom during the night is tough getting out of bed, neuropathy, generalized widespread pain always. Just wish there was something out there to relieve the pain that isn't a debillitating medication. Every so often a new pain will rear its' ugly head and I think add it to the list. Oh yeah, the doctor that diagnosed the fibro walked into the exam room with the comment that I had crazy woman's disease....all in my head. Thanks in advance!

Heating pad works well for me but it’s a temporary relief. My biggest things that help are a good night sleep, less stress, and some exercise.
