Unfortunately I had to quit my job and pretty much end my social life. On the bright side, my experience getting sick made me very aware of who really matters in my life ☺️

I had to quit ice skating when I was about 12 and pretty much everything went downhill from there lol

I used to be so active! I was a firefighter/medic, ocean lifeguard etc. and now I can barely walk on a nature trail with a cane without needing days to recover. I found a way to keep working full time (remotely) and even that takes all of my energy, these days. My vEDS has been progressing rapidly the past two years and it’s been difficult to come to terms with my limitations. I also had to have a total hysterectomy and come to terms with being infertile at the age of 26. I don’t have a social life anymore and my favorite hobbies are seemingly impossible, most days. Sometimes I can still get out and do stuff, but I always pay greatly for it. I’m looking at a pacemaker implant and a port insertion and truly hope both bring back some quality of life.

I had a port for years that helped my quality of life. These days my pots is good enough I don’t need it anymore. Now my issues are more mobility and use my power wheelchair most the time. My power wheelchair have given me lots of freedom. Recovery days are so necessary!
