Living with Multiple Mental Health Conditions: Share Your Story

does anyone here deal with symptoms of bpd, ptsd, autism, ocd and adhd all together? i’d just like to hear your guys’ stories of how life is for you. you can explain anything! i’ve been feeling alone with my problems lately and i’d like to bond with what stories you guys have - either what daily life is like, a story of friendship or etc. just whatever comes to mind.

Do you want life stories or just how it is now? Because currently for me it's rough, but my main complaint in life is getting fixed this week. However because of my autism people do try and say I don't actually love my baby and I have been fired for my traits. If there's anything else I'm willing to talk and would love to hear from people with similar experiences to my other ones

gosh this sounds so hard with your kid. im so sorry :( in terms of work i can relate. i was having symptoms of many things popping up one time for a job and they found any excuse they could to fire me. they crossed my hours on purposes so i would be busy with my second job and they used it as excuse to let me go. :/

other than autism, I’ve been diagnosed with all of those plus other things and life is honestly just so exhausting. I don’t even know how I’m still here. you’re not alone! how has life been for you?

super hard. i was not paid attention to bc my brother was special needs and my mom who has (suspected by professionals) NPD so she favorited him highly. me saying i had an issue to her was just me tryna get attention in the way my brother had it. so it’s super hard to navigate since im really new to accepting myself!

its also hard bc i was literally left abandoned in all conversing and emotional aspects. so convos are extremely tough in general besides how tough they were for me as a child in school.

In therapy, I've been introduced to a lot of terms like bpd, adhd, executive disfunction, ocd, brain fog, mania. But the professional I work with and myself have never pushed to make a specific diagnosis. Instead, we use techniques and practices that overlap with a lot these concerns. I used cbt therapy and radical acceptance for a while and I switched to dbt therapy. Don't be scared of these terms, because they can give you some answers and coping mechanisms if you need it.

I have autism, ADHD, cptsd but I'm not sure about bpd though I do have symptoms. Autism and ADHD are often comorbid and Autistic people are often traumatized for various direct and indirect reasons, which of course leads to the PTSD and then bpd so it's..tough out here

I will say I have OCD and PTSD officially diagnosed, and I've semi-diagnosed myself with ADHD. I've also seen the F code for BPD on my therapist's bills that I submit to insurance. She's part of a DBT program I completed a couple years back and then loved her so much I stuck with her for individual therapy. She has explained to me before that BPD is more of a group of symptoms than a hard and fast disorder, and I definitely have many of those symptoms. I think mental health is a complex beast, and all these fancy labels we've created as a society are just our best guess at organizing chaos. I try to break everything down into individual symptoms/issues to address, and take each day at a time, sometimes an hour at a time. I'm also in recovery, that's how I learned to slow down and take life as it comes. Also learned how to actually put that into practice through DBT.

I have bipolar, PTSD, ADHD and possibly autism but I'm not sure. It's definitely affected my ability to make and keep friends, but I have a few close ones and have made peace with being a little lonely

I have all of those except I have ADD instead of ADHD. It's very stressful, so much so that I couldn't explain it without writing an essay lol
