You have long Covid if you still have symptoms after having Covid. Talking to your doctor should help, the test depends on the symptoms. I’m just starting with the Covid recovery center

So I have long Covid and go to the Veterans Administration for medical care. The didn’t diagnose me with long Covid till I had every other medical test done possible for any other condition I might have. I have seen a ton of specialists. Now I get to follow up with infectious disease and a few other specialists every few months now.

my primary care wanted to do the same route to diagnosis, diagnosis by telling out everything else. But she couldn't get specialists in our area of the state to assist. I was stuck in a limbo. I was scared and tired of being stuck so I called the UIHC post-civic clinic myself, sent what was required, and lucked out on a cancellation. 3 well wait instead of 6 months.

That’s what they’ve done with me too. Dizziness, ridiculous brain fog, & tremors for almost a year now. CT, MRI, tons of blood tests, 2 neurologists, a neuro psych eval, ENT, hearing test, optometrist, psychiatrist, and not one single person said “long Covid.” Then I saw an article in The Atlantic & was like - Holy crap; that’s me!! Went to my GP & she told me to research it on the internet. ??? Is it just because nobody knows how to treat it, so you think?

Also, to get into the University of Iowa post-covid clinic, I had to have a positive PCR test. They are sending my husband for a special test with a very long name to determine his antibody level. That will determine his eligibility for their program. I will try to find the name.
