Long-term SSRI use not working anymore, seeking advice

Hi everyone!! Nice to meet you. I have a question: has anyone been on SSRIs long-term? I’ve been on an SSRI since 2014 and I’m at the max allotted dosage of it. But I realized, It’s not working anymore. My depression and anxiety feel unmanaged. I have an appt with my psychiatrist to discuss changes but the appt is not for another month, so any advice or insight would be wonderful!! Even suggestions about other medications combating anxiety, depression and/or borderline personality disorder would be appreciated! :D hope you’re all mentally doing well today!

Following up on this; I have the same question. I’ve been taking Lexapro for 8 months now at medium dosage and I feel like my body has already gotten used to it.

I've been on an SSRI since 2013 so I feel that. It has indeed stopped working for me and I'm on double the maximum recommended dose because of that! I also have anxiety, depression, and BPD. I'm in weekly therapy, which helps a lot, and I try to practice mindfulness and positive self talk. Those last two can sound a bit woo-woo but whatever works at this point, I'll take lol.

I’ve been on antidepressants for nearly 22 years. I’ve had to change them several times to find one that worked for me. I recently heard about a place that does genetic testing to help determine what the best type of psychiatric drugs work for you. https://genesight.com/product/

I tried linking the company, but it didn’t work. Google Genesight.con
