Loss of Appetite: Is it Normal?

Is it normal to randomly have a loss of appetite? I’ve been pretty stressed lately and randomly one day I just stopped being hungry. I force myself to eat to take my meds and at dinner but I haven’t really been wanting lunch. any way I might be able to increase my hunger?

Can you help? Connect today

Also I’m starting Adderall tomorrow and I heard that will effect it too

I get that way without medication too, sometimes I just stop getting so hungry. But yeah Adderall has absolutely decreased my appetite, mostly within the first few days.

I definitely feel that way sometimes. Sometimes if I’m super stressed or low energy then I won’t eat until dinner...which probably isn’t great hah. What you’re going through is normal though! It’s good that you’re eating anyways :)

My body will usually tell me I’m hungry in other ways when this happens as well. Like I’ll feel shaky, weak, light headed, or a bit sick, which are all good indicators I need food. Maybe you’ve experienced some of the same?

Stress also kills my appetite. I try to make sure I eat at least once a day but beyond that unless I'm getting dizzy I don't really worry about it. Not unless it goes on for more than a week or so.

If you take meds, absolutely. It's a common awful side effect of stimulants. I was like 80 pounds in high school because of this (4' 11".) I only got back up to a healthy weight when I stopped taking meds.

Ritalin had less of this side effect than Adderall for me.

I’ve had it happen to me before. It can happen with a lot of stress or excitement. You can just literally forget!
