Recently diagnosed with Lupus, looking for support

I was diagnosed two weeks ago with Lupus but they haven't told me what kind. For years, I always had weird aches and pains all over my body but lately, it is a specific area or areas, it depends. I have also noticed that depends on the weather, stress level and what I eat or how much exercise I do. Can anybody out there relate?

Feeling depressed and need courage to go on. I am going to changed my diet completely and do more exercises. Digestive system acting up but it must be because either I am allergic to some foods or eating bad or both. The type of clothing material I wear seem to matter too. Where I sit or how I place my arms and legs is a challenge everyday, if a fan or Ac is on, forget it. So I have to keep the house warm all of the time. Anyway, anybody else with similar issues or is it my Psyche because now I have name for all of these symptoms?

@EG hi! I’ve had lupus for almost 20 years, and it does get better, I promise! You learn how to live with it, how to reduce your flares, and how to get them under control quickly by listening to your body. I also highly recommend therapy. The Lupus Foundation of America can recommend a support group in your area (if you are in the United States or Canada) and there are probably local lupus organizations near you as well. When I was first diagnosed, I went to their support group and it helped me tremendously!! But also think about finding a therapist who specializes in chronic illness. The one I see is amazing! There’s also a great book called When Lupus Throws You For A Loop by Donna Oram and that has helped me and others I know so, so much!! She has lupus too, so she really understands what we go through. You can do this! Hang in there and reach out for the help you need. You’ve got this!!
