It's all about your diet. What you eat! Seeing a dietician/nutrition specialist will really help.

I'm in the same boat! Cut down on your sodium that's the first thing you want to do oh, Google c k d and you'll find a lot of information

Also, Google the DaVita diet. That's what I am following a lot of stuff I got rid of all my canned foods it has a lot of sodium and unfortunately I have to get rid of the food I had bought that's in the freezer! Has too much potassium and something else that's bad for your kidneys. Also drink plenty of water

Yes, I agree with everything. Davita.com is really the way to go for sound nutritional advice for all of us in general. Another Big thing to add. No more dabbling with alcohol consumption, it’s a hard (((Big No-No for Me))). I also limit Meat, too much protein isn’t good for me either. So I stick with mostly poultry these days. Good luck & God Bless… 👍🏼♥️👍🏼

I've learned these things, drink plenty water, avoid processed food, whole food plant based diet is suggested. Be careful cutting sodium too much. Use your labs as a guideline for eating. If your sodium levels are ok, you don't have to cut out salt. Watch potassium, some people have a problem with high potassium. Again, eat according to your labs. There are several very helpful support groups on Facebook. If you can, get a good renal dietitian.

Allways remember kidneys are filters , so try to eat in a way that lessons the work they need to do , watch sugars especially if diabetes is a factor, alot of effort towards portion controll, low fats, low carb, low protein, etc.. check with doctor there is a "kidney smart" program that covers everything you need to know
