Managing Gastroparesis and Esophageal Dysmotility: Seeking Advice

I was just diagnosed with esophageal dysmotility (weak peristalsis) on top of gastroparesis after a motility/manometry test. Still waiting on the results of 24hr PH. Does anyone have experience with managing both conditions? What’s worked for you, if anything? I’ve failed Reglan and don’t qualify for the domperidone clinical trial so I’m a little out of viable medications at the moment.

Can you help? Connect today

Yes! Domperidone is the only thing I’ve found effective and I’ve tried all the gastroparesis meds except reglan (my family has a scary history with that drug so I’m hesitant to try it). I have to get it shipped from Canada but it makes a huge difference for me. It’s a hassle but it’s so worth it. I believe there’s also a place in California that sells it but it may be black market. I don’t even think you need a prescription since it’s sold OTC in other countries. I also tried acupuncture and tens stimulation and was in a GP trial at Hopkins. Nothing has been as effective for me as the domperidone has

Reglan doesn't do much to help my gastroparesis, I have to find something else. Hopefully domperidone is an option... but I've done no research on it. I hope you're able to find something that works for both.
