A specialist told me hormones make ligaments loosen more for everyone so for us it’s just extra fun!

If you do get an IUD, the Skyla is the lowest hormones aka lowest amount of progestins. But, they only last 3 years, so getting them replaced is pretty traumatic for folks like us. I also don’t recommend them if you have issues with your immune system. I think getting triggered a more severe autoimmune reaction in me than I’d had leading up to that point (I think I’ve always had a low grade autoimmune disorder; it comes with the territory of EDS). They can also perforate, dislodge, and trigger endometriosis, which I suspect may also be a consequence of having multiple IUDs. Also gave me migraines and I gained 40 pounds :/ just my 2 cents though lol

Absolutely! I think my hEDS symptoms are MOST bothersome when I’m on my period. Everything aches and clicks, it’s as if my entire body is ultra sensitive during that time.
