Looking for a medication to help with motivation

Currently I’m leaning off of Venlafaxine because I just felt like it never helped with my depression. I need more help with motivation, because I realized a lot of my depression was from my ADD and now that is being treated I still struggle with motivation even while being on Adderall. Any suggestions on a medication that helps with motivation? Thank you in advance

I was told to take venlafaxine for my anxiety - made me extremely exhausted daily and gave me the worst nightmares. I was then given Wellbutrin on top of the venlafaxine and that changed everything for the better. I still feel venlafaxine isn't necessary and does more harm than good, for most it seems. I would like to be able to be on Wellbutrin alone since I feel it was the superior drug for my depression and did aid my anxiety as well. I'm also on hydroxyzine for panic attacks or when I struggle to sleep. I hope this helped 🌹

is Wellbutrin the same thing as Bupropion XL? Because I used to be on it and I feel like I heard my doctor call it Wellbutrin at some point but I could be wrong. It never worked for me in the past but now maybe if I were to take it with Adderall it’ll have a better effect on me because my depression has gotten a little better.

I'm honestly not sure about the "XL" portion of that, but yes it is bupropion (nothing added) is wellbutrin. Maybe the combination will help, otherwise I would most definitely try to do more research along with speaking to your psychiatrist about better options. It's not easy having to go back and forth between meds, so just know you're not alone in this journey.

maybe that’s also my problem here, I’m just having my main doctor help me with this and not seeing a psychiatrist about any of it.
