How can I tell if my medications are working?

How do I know if my medications are actually working? I know it’s not something I can feel like if I were to take a Norco but sometimes it’s hard to tell if I feel the effects of the medication when it doesn’t make me feel a certain way..

My focus and drive to move forward are directly related to my meds working properly.

I feel like I’m getting there but it’s just not happening and I don’t know what to do because currently I’m on the highest dose of adderall and the most I feel is confident and being just a little more focused but nothing that I’m noticing of doing better.

I use to take Ritalin when I was a kid. I’ve been on concerta since I was in I think middle school. I’ll be out of school 20 years this June. I’m on the highest dose of concerta that I’m able to be on. Some days it feels like it’s working. But some days I feel like it’s not working so well.

I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was a kid, but my parents did not want me taking any meds. It wasn’t until the pandemic that I tried meds for the first time. I take adderall. I do feel the pills in terms of a marked bodily change, but just ever so slightly. However, I *do* see the difference when I attempt to do any sort of work, physical or otherwise—I hyper focus until things get done.

maybe that’s where my problem is. I too didn’t start taking medication for it until recent because I just felt like something had never been right. I’ll take the Adderall hoping I get motivated to get up and do things but half the time I still struggle to leave out of my bed even while on Adderall.

Man I’m the same way! I always end up over analyzing my thoughts to see if they’re working but that seems to just f my attention up soI just try to trust it’ll work. I guess I never really know until later in the day when I see how productive or attentive I’ve been able to be for that day
