Worried About Running Out of Mental Health Medication Options

I worry that as I get older there will be less options for medication that will keep things at bay. I have been on some form of medication since I was young and as I've gotten older my mental health issues continue to worsen and get more complex. Is this worry about medication options well-founded or have you been able to find new options that still help you?

It took me quite a few years and a number of hospitalizations and changes in dosage to finally get to this stage where I feel like I'm taking the right medication. There are a huge variety of medications, with varying degrees of effectiveness in all of the drug classes. Sometimes research also requires a little experimentation. If something doesn't work for you or you don't like it, tell your doctor asap so you can ween off it and change to a more effective medication. Feel free to message me with any questions !

Also, newer, better meds are always being worked on.
