Exploring Mental Health Treatments Beyond Medication

This is kinda cool...kinda nerve racking lol. I guess to start a conversation I actually would like to know other than meds, are there any other treatments that might help?

I go to therapy. I use the finch app. I try to channel my anxiety into something creative like drawing

I find binders helpful, despite having already gotten top surgery. I just feel more secure and it's like a hug all day

Tho also be aware of the risks of binders, it like does stuff to your ribs apparently (I didn't notice my ribs doing anything but best to be safe)

It is hard for me to explain it so I hope this makes sense. For me, the opposite of anxiety is calmness and feeling grounded. So for me it was important to find healthy coping mechanisms and activities. For some people that is going to therapy and talking it out with someone. For some that is writing in a journal and really doing self exploration into your anxiety. For some it is doing grounding exercises like meditation or breathing exercises. Anxiety can have specific triggers so working to identify those triggers can lead to breakthroughs as to how to face those triggers without going into a full spiral. For me, one of my triggers is lack of control. One way I face that trigger is by maintaining a daily routine so there is a lot about each day I can anticipate and control.

I have just began understanding my anxiety 😥 have started really digging into grounding meditation/ yoga. Have started taking Sertraline also. It seems to be helping me cope more.
