Misdiagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis for 10 Years

I have thought for the last 10 years that I had rheumatoid arthritis and last week I found out that I actually have psoriasis arthritis. Has this happened to anyone else? Also, I have intestinal involvement is there anything that will treat this? Lastly, my eyesight has gotten very bad of late is there anything that will reverse this? Thanks for any help offered

I completely understand 😥 ! I started having issues in the late 80’s. First involving mouth ulcers, fatigue and red patches on my face. The mouth ulcers were like 10 to 20 in my mouth every month. They might have cleared up for a week or a few days but back they came with a vengeance. This lasted for about two years. I was told that I had Lupus. Towards the end of the 90’s I started having extreme fatigue and weakness in my legs and some joint pain. Started going back to the doctor to be diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I had always had intestinal problems. I had begin to get depressed and anxiety. I eventually got on disability. Over the years I decided for myself that it was just a part of my dna and learned how to live with whatever came along. All the time having all kinds of crazy symptoms. I broke out with psoriasis in the fall of 2017. Started on a biologic and side effects were terrible. I have now been on three different ones. I can tell you that whatever it is that comes up may and probably will be something additional that you have acquired or they won’t be able to find out exactly what it is. I now have been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and fibromyalgia. Plus my thyroid doesn’t work at all. I am continually fatigued and depressed and I fight it with all I have inside me. I just pray daily that I can awake refreshed and full of energy. I hope you can find a doctor that specializes in autoimmune diseases. God Bless ! 🙏

I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at first, because I tested positive for the rheumatoid factor. Because of the nail pitting, sausage fingers, and asymmetrical joint involvement, they said it was psoriatic.
