Anyone with MVP: When were you diagnosed? Was it mild, moderate, or severe? Have you had a repair or replacement? How severe was it? How long had it been since you were diagnosed?

Mild, diagnosed in my 20s at college, no surgery or other treatment. My dentists don’t even see a need to prescribe antibiotics prior to cleanings and procedures, but that might be obsolete advice by now for me.

Yes, diagnosed over 45 or more yrs ago, it's mild to moderate, I don't take meds by choice, until I'm Symptomatic

Mild and diagnosed at a month old I've been dealing with it since birth as it started with truncus arteriosus coarctation of the Aortic Valve and I had 2 holes in my heart. I was basically born blue and doctors had to take me and do surgery at a month old they sent me home I was born blue and no one back in the 90s thought hey maybe this baby has a heart condition that can kill her.

I’m 19 and I was diagnosed at 13. It was super mild and caught by accidental. It’s gotten a lot worse. Just recently had to be in hospital and have been put on beta blockers (propranolol) and am awaiting catheter ablation. Never used to have any symptoms but now I get resting heart rates of 130-150 and constant ectopic beats

Hope you're okay :) I am on propranolol for migraines but I didn't notice that my resting heart rate dropped from around 85 to 67. Although I do sometimes get a massive increase (108bpm) in my resting heart rate which increases to about 120bpm when I start doing stuff. Not sure if this is stress related though. Also comes with chest pain. Is this the same kind of thing as you? (But on a less severe scale)

I was diagnosed three years ago in my 30s. Mild symptoms. Started in lockdown feeling like i am going to faint while my heart was palpitating. I have cut out caffeine from my diet and since have barely to no symptoms at all. Still drink coffee because i love it but decaf.

I'm 21 and I was diagnosed with mitral valve regurgitation at around 16. I had always been told that I had an innocent heart murmur by doctors but found out what it actually was when I went to a pop up free clinic. Was told it was nothing to worry about. I got a fit bit this year and discovered the HRV calculator. Mine seems to be ridiculous low. On average around 23ms. I am curious if this is because of the murmur.
