I'm currently on a mix of Modafinil and Wakix, its night and day compared to before. My anxiety is nearly non existant and doing activities went from absolute torture to super achievable. The biggest drawback is it wrecked my immune system something wild and is actively at odds to any allergy medications (any histamine would be though)

If you have narcolepsy with cataplexy, a doctor will probably put you on a companion medication cause it can make the cataplexy worse. (It mixed with my POTS real bad and was causing fainting/collapsing) So as with any medication work with a doctor and let them know anything else you're on and why.

I was taking armodafonil (extended release version) but the side effects for me made it not worth it. My doc wasn’t willing to work with me to try to see if we could get it to be more beneficial- different release and dosage so he just took me off. It works on histamine and dopamine receptors- decreased my pain levels and helped my mood but I have chronic sinusitis, allergies, autoimmune issues, electrolyte imbalance so all of those got worse. Was like I had about 2 functional hours but the rest of the day horrible migraine and couldn’t breath. It was about the equivalent to taking 400mg of caffeine but didn’t last as long and had terrible crash. Also felt like when it was working I was in autopilot with the wrong heading.. not helpful. Increased sympathetic nervous system- shaky, dizzy, and harder to relax and eat. Caffeine feels like much cleaner energy source for me personally and is much easier to manage. When I was taking it I started adding magnesium glycinate and threonate, electrolyte pills, and caffeine (cushion crash drop), Tylenol severe sinus, and choline to help with side effects. My doctor said it was life changing medication for narcolepsy… that was absolutely not the case for me but everyone is different.

I'm on Modafinil and I've been on it for over a year maybe two now. I feel live I've developed a resistance to it possibly. It worked amazing when I first started on it and now I take both it and Adderall and I still need daily naps to cope through my day.
