I go to group therapy and today we discussed self-acceptance, which is acknowledging our weaknesses but also ours successes to allow ourselves to grow. Core beliefs are also what we learned, which I think are assumptions we've created from past experiences based on our environment. In order to minimize them, we need to accept our flaws, and be willing to let go. which I have a hard time doing. I heard writing positive affirmations down and saying them aloud multiple times daily are helpful (I have a hard time starting because I can't believe them yet but I do practice acceptance). But many regards to your healing and I hope you get the emotional closure you deserve.

It's definitely hard to let go, but I think practice is key. Some days are harder than others and I can see the value in accepting all of the above so thank you for this. Your words mean a lot to me today❤️

Maybe tell others positive things. When they smile, and they usually do, it helps you start to feel good yourself. This triggers a little bit of personal positive thoughts which helps make turning your negative thoughts around easier. I personally, when depressed, go to Walmart and give at least three random people a compliment...I really like that shirt...that handbag looks so good with you...etc. it changes me enough that I can change me more.
