Been through this. Don’t go in expecting to want to open up completely, it’s ok if it takes a few visits.

Bring fidgets if you need it to ease anxiety, if it's telehealth get comfy My first visit was pretty much just reviewing my file and what I want help on, I don't tell my psychiatrist a huge amount about my life mostly just problems I need addressed or help on

If your psychiatrist asks you questions, be honest with every answer. I agree with one of the other users on this post who commented. You don't have to open up completely, it might take a few visits. But for a start, if they ask you a question, be honest with everything. That's the only way they'll know how to help you.
