Newly Diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder: Seeking Treatment Advice

I went to therapy today, and to my complete surprise I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. I’m completely new to this, and have little idea what this entails for me. Could you guys give me an idea on treatment?

Everyone is different. Just have to find what works best for you. Also bipolar can be misdiagnosed for other illnesses.

I don't have bipolar disorder, but my understanding is that medicine plays a big role in managing the ups and downs of bipolar. Best of luck. 💕

I have bipolar disorder & honestly having meds is important but also finding out what makes you manic/go on a high. Like sometimes when I start buying things I can't stop because it makes me happy/dopamine released into my brain & makes me want to buy more to continue experiencing my happy high I call it. A manic episode can also be like starting a project & not sleeping & only hyperfocusing on it. At least those are from my experience

I'm on lamictal which has helped stabilize the crazy parts of me. If you're okay with medications then you might wanna look into a nice psychiatrist
