It was a weird kind of transition. I had extreme amnesia and dissociation for a long time before finding out about the DID. When I first found out about it, it got worse. But as I've worked on communication and trust in our system, it's drastically changed. We co-con almost everything, or at the very least, I'm "looking over the shoulder" of the fronter, and am mostly aware of what's happening. (i.e. I know I'm talking to my mother. Idk what the fronter and her are talking about, but I know I'm there with my mother.) So, less amnesia! I do tend to have more emotional amnesia, however. I know what happened but they don't feel like "my" memories or I feel like even though I was there, I don't feel emotional attachment to the memory. (i.e. I remember my 23rd birthday party, but none of the joy and excitment.)
