Seeking Advice on Seeing a Dietician/Nutritionist

Has anyone seen a dietician/nutritionist (I’m unsure of the difference)? I experience both binge eating and under-eating and am seeing one in a couple weeks but have no idea at all what to expect. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have! Mine actually figured out within 1 or 2 sessions that I struggled with sensory processing (mainly around foods). Just like a therapist, if you don't connect within a few sessions, try someone else. I worked with her for about a year and a half, and while I've regressed a bit, I'm still loads further along than I would have been without help. Be honest about your struggles. I also have OCD, so any time I tried to "count" macros/calories, I'd obsess and not eat enough to function. So my nutritionist guided me to "if you can't eat anything else, at least get 4 of your shakes in a day" Let me know if you have any questions. My best advice is to be honest with them and yourself.

thank you so much that’s super helpful! I’m not sure if I have OCD but I do have symptoms of it, including the obsessive calorie counting. I’m going into a therapy program for eating disorders as well, so hopefully that combined with a nutritionist will help. Thanks again!!
