Seeking Help for Memory Issues Through Occupational Therapy

Does anyone do occupational therapy for the purpose of helping their memory? Does it help? what kind of things do you do? My neurologist referred me to an occupational therapist to work on memory function since my memory has been lacking for years now. my first appointment is in August.
