Looking for Support with Severe OCD and Anxiety

My name is Jamie and I'm in my late 40s and a male experiencing severe OCD such as checking and ordering symmetry and counting. Just wondering if there anybody else out there experiencing this type of OCD and also I have severe anxiety and I feel like I'm the only one out there who understands this and I feel like I'm all alone. Everyday seems to be a major battle and I'm just looking for people to talk to who are dealing with the same thing I am dealing with. I'm married but my wife doesn't understand my issues even though she tries and I just need some support people to talk to. Thank you and may the Lord Jesus bless you all!

I kind of feel like that at the grocery store when I get done shopping and I leave I always wonder why people weren't so friendly and a lot of the employees working there they don't really say too much of anything to anybody and most of the time I bring these thoughts and feelings home of why the grocery store checker didn't talk that much and why they weren't that friendly. It's kind of similar with what you feel like when a manager passes you by and you start going through your mind of wondering because they don't say hello to you when they arrive.

Totally, I’ve had OCD and anxiety for as long as I can remember. My OCD is a lot better now but growing up it was really bad! I totally get it, it is so exhausting!

You are not alone in this at all. I have the same type of OCD and also been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder on the almost Panic Disorder level.

I'm a germophobe myself. Everything needs to be perfect at all times , if not i cannot think straight. No shoes allowed in my place , i carry a mini lysol in my purse, and i have the urge to wash/sanitize my hands everytime i touch anything, sometimes twice at the time.

Yes! Since having my daughter and Covid I have developed severe ocd. It is often debilitating. We don’t go anywhere unless necessary because I will start taking temperature checks hourly and if I don’t my ocd tells me something bad will happen to my daughter. Hand washing becomes so often that my hands will bleed. There’s much more but it’s often hard to go to that place if you’re not there currently. I have been put on medication that has changed my life and taken all of that away as long as it’s not triggered by a real event that happened.(not something made up in my head)

Your not alone trust me that's why I downloaded this app I feel like the only one going through the exact same thing!! For the anxiety I take hydroxyzine (benadryl) and ashwagandha and as far as the ocd goes well it hasn't lol its still here and not going anywhere unfortunately but I've been trying not to give into to the impulses and that's extremely hard but when I do it seems to get a lil better but yeah I'm here also.

oh my this was once me!! I was obsessed with the orange scented clorox wipes. I'm still not sure if it's because of ocd or my iron deficiency anemia I also obsessed over soap I would cut it and smell it ugh anyway I don't anymore I've had 8 iron infusions and fixed the cause of my anemia with an endometrial ablation and I haven't even thought about it
