Has anyone tried online therapy services?

Has any one tried online services like cerebral or better help, and has improved. I want to know if it’s worth paying for.

I found my therapist on Betterhelp! She left and I don’t use it anymore, she uses a different telehealth service now that I use but I didn’t have an issue with it!

I think BetterHelp was good for the purpose I needed it for. I used it for quite a few months when I didn’t have access to a therapist due to covid and finances. I think it’s better than not having a therapist at all but definitely think it takes a while to find the right person on there. I would just keep requesting new ones until I found the right fit. I’d have some deal breaker things I would discuss in the chat before meeting and if I didn’t like their answers I would switch. I would also give them 2 sessions and if we didn’t click I would switch to a new one as well after that point. I did end up on someone I really liked but I feel that because of the way they do sessions I never truly had someone who approached therapy the way I needed for my trauma so I ended up seeing someone local lately.

I'm using cerebral right now and they've prescribed Lexapro to treat my anxiety and depression. Honestly, you get what you pay for. I chose one of the cheapest options because of my financial instability, so I only see my counselor (not therapist or psychiatrist) once a month, and my prescriber once a month. They do listen well and take my symptoms very seriously. However I've always felt like it was almost too easy to get medicated. If you're prone to addiction, I would be very careful with letting them know so they don't give you something addictive.
