Struggling with Pain Management, Need Advice

Hi besties, I’ve hit a dead end when it comes to pain management recently. I’ve struggled with poor reactions to medications or medications not helping alot. We’ve tried a couple different NSAIDs which I was taken off of due to GI problems, we did Gabapentin that helped stop the tremors in my hands but did very little for the pain unless we had it at a dose I could barely tolerate, I was on cymbalta briefly and reacted poorly to that, and I’ve been on amitriptyline for a while without much result and now my doctor doesn’t really know what to try. What’s helped for y’all?

I often have a lot of negative reactions to medications, but also have significant chronic pain. Some approaches that aren’t medications or that I use with lower doses of medication include heat, kt tape, braces, mobility aids, and some topical pain relievers which I have found to be more helpful recently. Also if you have the ability to do so scheduling breaks into your day for self care, and potentially changing things in your daily routine that may aggravate pain symptoms. I hope some of this is helpful and I am happy to clarify things or answer any questions. Chronic pain can feel like a never ending battle especially during flare-ups I hope you find methods of pain management that work for you 💖

Have you tried cannabis? Assuming it is available in the place you live. It's not a miracle cure but it helps me with so many different EDS symptoms and with little in the way of side effects: muscle spasms, nausea, pain, sleeplessnes
