Looking for advice on pain relief medication

Hi, just wondered what pain relief everyone is on, I used to take pethidine tablets for chronic pain then one day the doctor said that they was not allowed to prescribe it anymore? Does anyone know why? Was anyone on pethidine? And if so can you still get it?

I am unfamiliar with that med. Pain meds are something I don't know a lot about anyway. All of my doctors just refuse to prescribe pain meds, no matter how much pain I am in. Why? I wish I knew. I really don't understand. No one deserves to live in hell! I'm so sorry I don't have better info. May The Great Spirit be with you.

they don’t give me anything either. Want to go to pain clinic but I’m afraid too once they see pain clinic they assume your seeking more. Drugs. Almost killed me that way.

Pain med? I wish I could get some. I live in Pennsylvania where they passed an opiate law foolishly thinking they could reduce the opiate deaths on the streets. All it did was hurt people like us in continuous pain.

I definitely agree. We are the only ones who can’t get them the illegal ones are still being used. It’s just us that suffers.

I started topamax because lyrica’s side effects were killing me, even though it helped a lot from a pain perspective. Tooamax is working really well! It does give me nose bleeds and I have no hunger at all on it (which is good in that I’m on a diet but bad in that all I could eat today was five bites of food) but it’s helping the pain so I think it’s worth it!

After being told my pain is all in my head by a pain specialist, I decided I was done with doctors. I now use cannabis and kratom for pain, and they both work excellent. I live on the West Coast of the US though, where most things are legal, but I realize those things aren't legal everywhere. If they weren't legal here I'd buy them online because they are effective with minimal side effects.
