Dealing with Persistent Nausea - Need Advice

Does anyone deal with crazy nausea? Like in the last month I gagged like all the time for no reason and I’ve never had this problem before and I’ve had long Covid and Pots for about a year now. Does anyone have any recommendations on what I should do and how to not feel sick all the time?

I have a ton of nausea, and multiple conditions it’s a symptom of. For me, zofran has been a lifesaver. Otherwise I’ve found that my nausea can kind of go in tandem with my pots symptoms, especially when I’ve not eaten anything or when I’ve just eaten. Smaller meals helps with this some. Being nauseous is absolutely no fun and even though I’ve dealt with it 17 out of my 19 years of life I’m still learning how to manage it. I wish I had more advice to offer. Sending spoons!

I'm very similar to another comment, I've had a zofran prescription for 3 years now and it's been a lifesaver. I'm 19 and I've dealt with nausea since at least 5 years old. What helps me is to know what my triggers are (heat, certain foods, strong smells, etc). However, often it's not due to a specfic trigger. I always keep a bag on me with zofran, tums, an easy snack, water, an essential oil (for scent), an instant cold pack, and I want to add some ginger chews or mints as well

Me too! I drink ginger tea and suck on ginger chews to help. Laying on your left side, small meals throughout the day, plain crackers, massaging the vagus nerve, and of course, our beloved salt water/electrolytes have helped manage the nausea for me...I've also started listening to "healing frequencies" on Spotify or YouTube when it gets unbearable. Sorry you are experiencing this ❤️

I have this same issue! The nausea is horrible especially the gagging but don’t actually vomit? It’s so confusing! For me it happens mostly after eating. Zofran has saved me so many times if I take it immediately when I feel nauseated.

Hi I’m sorry nausea sucks, I have ginger candy and alcohol pads as my life savers and motion sickness on occasion. I can’t do Zofran due to SSRI

God I wish I could help but I’m in the same boat. Avoiding nausea has been pretty much impossible for me. But things like warm baths or drinks and ginger really help! I’ve also heard that smelling alcohol swabs can help, but I haven’t tried it. Wishing you luck! Nausea sucks!!

All these are great suggestions but also isopropyl alcohol wipes legit saves my life (and the highest legal dosage of zofran of course) but last time I spent 24hrs in the ICU one of the nurses gave me a lil iso alc wipe to huff and told me that isopropyl alcohol is better and faster working for immediate relief. My dude has saved my life, I keep a whole box I got at Costco for cheap next to my best. When I wake up with nausea I grab one, rip it, and place it under my nose taking deep breaths until it passes. Works faster than anything else I've tried and quicker than my zofran!

Try dramamine since you can get that over the counter. If that doesn't help, talk to a provider for stronger medication. For me, medication is the only thing that's helped my nausea.

I also have POTS as wells as Gastroparesis. I have had crazy nausea to the point I can’t keep anything down for awhile lately. My primary doctor put me on an anti nausea med called Compazine and it helped SO much. I still use it on my bad days
