Struggling to Get Back into Physical Therapy with Cerebral Palsy

Hello I'm Ariishiya, I have right hemiplegic cerebral palsy. Due to some life situations I haven't done much physical therapy for a couple years and I'm struggling to get back into it, I really want to better myself.

I honestly just want to meet some people that have similar experiences/condition and have people that I can relate to in the same level.... If you want to talk I'm here ☺️

I haven't done any PT for several years and I just got a referral for the first time on my own; intake is next month, I'm pretty nervous about it, but I'm proud of myself for refusing to believe this is all there is.

🤗 I hope all goes well for you ❤️ I'll be doing stretches and exercises on my own since I don't have a place to go or support to help... I just need to find exercises I can do without help and get motivated to do so

I start physical therapy for the first time in about 10 years myself tomorrow! I technically have mixed type in all my limbs but it's worse on my right side. Hopefully I don't accidentally kick my pt or my friend in the face. (Side, I accidentally kicked my Dr in the face at my last appointment)

🫣 oh no I hope everything definitely goes okay for you ❤️ (tho on the bright side if there's someone like you really don't like you want to kick them you can use it as an excuse 🤣) but all jokes aside I'm super proud that you'll be getting back into physical therapy I really wish I knew what I could do myself 😅 you really make me think about how I really should get back into it myself

I’m in the same boat. I stopped PT because I was really saddened by the face that other people who do PT were there for sports injuries and they were going to “get better” and I wasn’t. As I’ve gotten older though, this feeling has mostly gone away. Good luck!

when I was younger, physical therapy actually really helped and it was actually making me better but when I got into teen years, later I move countries and just a lot of life issues... I feel like I didn't deserved to do it and wasn't worth it I now really...really regret it so so much because I know if I kept up with it I'd probably would be at the stage of not having to worry about my condition of a daily and my physical physique and and what have so much pain from tensed, stressed out muscles😥
