Struggling with PMDD and Depression: Need Coping Mechanisms

hi. i am a 20 y/o and i have recently realized i have pmdd. i also have depression and i am taking an ssri medication but when i am about to start my period, it’s like my medication is completely overpowered by my hormones or something. i feel the lowest lows ever and i don’t know what to do. does anyone have any coping mechanisms or little things they do to make themselves feel a little better? i just want so short term help rn bc i am already in the process of speaking with a doctor about it but i don’t have an appt for a while :/ any advice is appreciated :)

i use HALT - are you hungry, angry, lonely, or tired? having a clean environment honestly helps so much. drinking cold water, wearing clean clothes, showering, going outside, & talking to people help too. if ur head feels heavy meditation helps clear it. and noticing what you're grateful for makes you look on the bright side of things

I have horrendous pms too. Like it's dibilitating. Yoga for pms and herbal teas are amazing. Hibiscus is great for me, it doesn't interact with ssri. Some women prefer raspberry leaf tea, chamomile and lavender are also awesome and safe. Eating alot of greens and protein.
