Just seeing this post now. I hope your meds are going well and you’re feeling the benefits. I’ve been on hydroxychloroquine for four years now. I take 200mg daily. A few times my rheu has wanted to increase my dose and I’ve resisted. Long term, this medication can cause retina damage, but it depends on dosage over time. You should see a retina specialist every 2-3 years to make sure everything is okay. Otherwise, I’ve had no side effects and it has help control my inflammation which has been wonderful.
