Possible POTS Diagnosis: Constant Dizziness and Passing Out

I haven’t been officially diagnosed with POTTS but we wonder if I have it. My heart rate gets up to like 185 and I’m constantly dizzy, sometimes passing out. My breathing is usually fine but I’m passing out like 6 times a week, is this normal? Could it be Potts? Could it be my anxiety or something else? Just trying to find answers.

we haven’t checked it out yet as I have other health issues we are working through and I just recovered from a major surgery. I just have no clue where to start as my primary doctor doesn’t believe me.

I would start by asking for a referral to a cardiologist to rule out any issues with your heart itself. If the cardiologist doesn't find anything, ask for a referral to a neurologist for autonomic reflex screening. If your PCP refuses to send the referral, ask for that refusal to be documented. I'm so sorry you're having to fight for proper care. Good luck ❤️

Definitely getting and electrocardiogram and echocardiogram could help rule out a structural issue. It’s definitely not normal and I doubt it’s just anxiety. It could be pots, but if your heartrate and passing out isn’t always linked to orthostatic changes I suggest looking into other forms of dysautonomia. Anyway, 100% seeing your GP or a cardiologist.

I feel it could be pots. Request a tilt table. Pots symptoms can be triggered by anxity so I find it difficult to know what’s what

It could be both POTS and anxiety, but don't be afraid to bring it up to a doctor. Let them know that you have constant issues with fainting, but that it doesn't seem to be related to anxiety. Be as honest as possible with them, because they can help you determine if it's POTS, anxiety, or something else.
