Looking for experiences with midodrine and other POTS meds

hi besties! I had a positive tilt table test, confirming POTS and OI! I started midodrine 2.5, 2x/day and I’m waiting for results. I wanted to know if any of y’all have tried midodrine/ other meds and what kind of experiences/side effects you’ve experienced. I’ve noticed feeling like I’m getting goosebumps, drowsiness, and scalp itching so far…. much love and comfort to you ❤️

Hello! I’m also on midodrine, same dose! I also get weird tingles especially on my scalp! But that’s the only side effect that I’ve experienced thus far!

I don't get the tingles thankfully! I sometimes feel random pokes on my legs 😆

Hi, I’m on midodrine too. I started on 5mg 2x a day but now am maxed out on it at 10mg 3x a day. With the increase ive had a huge increase in headaches. I don’t know completly if it’s a related side effect or coincidence, has anyone else experienced? I have scalp itching too now that you mentioned that, again not 100% sure if it’s related or not. As far as for my bp the increased does has really helped me. I will say I found out recently for my doctor that I was not originally told was to not take it 1hr-2 before bed..I can’t remember the reason but wasn’t told this for the first year+.

Hi! I tried midodrone and later added a beta blocker. They didn’t work for me but I think that was due to an undiagnosed autoinflammatory disease. Eventually PT helped my POTS symptoms (mainly core and lower body exercises so they’re easy to do at home!) and I was able to get off the meds. Everybody’s body is different though! Congrats on the diagnosis and good luck learning to manage the symptoms! ❤️

I have a tilt table test today! 💕 I’ve been on a beta blocker for a prolapsed valve which they increased due to my pots like symptoms and it has helped so far! I’m learning how to manage. Feel free to message me !

i take propranolol and it’s been great!! in the past i’ve struggled with lots of side effects with meds but propranolol has been fine for me! the only issue i had was i actually felt a little too good a few days and overdid it and sent myself into a flare but we’re all just figuring this out!
