It stopped me from having daily panic attacks. It also seems to help prevent a lot of other physical anxiety symptoms like fevers, shaking, racing heart. It helps my hypochondria as well- knowing my heart is going to keep beating regularly and my blood is going to keep flowing regularly. It definitely doesn’t do anything for racing thoughts or whatever is going on in your head. Best of luck.

My experience with propranolol has been largely positive - I’m on 10 mg as needed for anxiety attacks and it works well to calm my hand shaking, heart racing, and takes the anxious feeling out of my chest and arms. Doesn’t do much for my thoughts but I find that having less physical manifestation calms my thoughts a lot.

I really didn’t experience any changes with propranolol, I took it for three years. I’ve heard it works for some people but I really didn’t get much relief.

Hi hi! I was given propranolol for heart palpitations but was also told it should help my anxiety and panic attacks. It did help the palpitations but it did absolutely NOTHING for my GAD and panic attacks.
