Questioning if I'm Autistic

Been questioning if I'm autistic a lot lately. So much that it gets me down quite a bit. Not sure how to feel about it. I haven't brought it up with my doctor yet but I will during my next appointment. It just feels so likely, it makes sense. I feel like it gives me answers to most of my questions. Not sure what to think, or feel, or anything really. Just wish I knew what was going on so I can make progress towards helping myself. I just feel so lost

I get it. I’ve thought I might be as well. Honestly, labels can help a lot! Mention it to your doctor for sure. Don’t overthink it.

It's something I've been thinking about lately too. I just need to ask my psychiatrist about an evaluation but it's rly hard to bring up.

I have been contemplating the same diagnosis. I think I'm autistic, but I haven't been profesisoanlyk diagnosed. I think if you have a hunch, you should tell a professional about it. I had to literally TEACH my previous therapist that I had borderline personality disorder. Sometimes, you know yourself better than the professionals.

Getting a new diagnosis no matter for what can be stressful but here’s what helps me not to stress as much. First off getting a diagnosis from a doctor shows it’s not all internal which for me personally is extremely affirming because I always feel like an imposter or hypochondriac. Second is that things that may scare you or frustrate you are explained so they are easier to deal with. Lastly you have treatment options to help you manage anything you have difficulty with. Telling someone not to worry isn’t helpful in my opinion but if you are worried specifically about your doctor saying you have autism try to think of it as another puzzle piece you’re getting for the big picture of a happy you, instead of something that will make your life harder and define you.
