Questions about Mobility Aids

I’ve seen a lot of things lately about mobility aids and I have a few questions. Those who use them, what did you find is most helpful for you? What different types are there in the first place? How did you approach the topic with your dr(s)?

I just recently started using forearm crutches. It takes pressure off my lower joints and gives me something to lean on when I’m fatigued or dizzy. I didn’t talk to my doctor about it. I just did a bunch of research and bought my own off Amazon. (I got the kind that are foldable so I can put them in a backpack). Anyone can get a mobility aid if they will benefit from it. I decorated my crutches today. If you have any other questions let me know I’ll do my best!

I was also considering a cane that can fold out to a seat (Amazon) or a rollator walker. Ultimately I like the crutches because it’s like having two canes but more stable.

I was really lucky and found an ultralight wheelchair on Craigslist, believe it or not! I'm hoping it will be helpful because my worst pain area is in my knees. I'm hoping it helps some with fatigue too. I also love using those motorized shopping carts whenever I run errands.
