Questions for Mobility Aid Users

I have some questions for Mobility aid usersđŸ€ Recently I’ve been having a hard time getting around and am considering a mobility aid for long distances and rough days - When/how did you decide to start using your mobility aid? - How did you tell your family and friends and how did they react? - What aid do you use? -What should someone know before getting a mobility aid?

I noticed my fibro getting worse and knew I was going on a trip to NYC soon that would involve a lot of walking so I decided to take one of my grandmas extra canes (w/ her permission of course) and while I still hurt at the end of trip, I noticed it wasn’t as bad as my trip to Iceland. So I started using a cane on bad days and days with lots of walking. My family was skeptical at first but as they also have some level of mobility issues they came around. If you get a cane know that they need to be adjusted to the right height ( just look up a guide there are plenty on the internet or ask your doc) My cane folds and it costed like $30-$40 dollars off Amazon I think.
