I am not able to be off anti depressants and haven’t for 8+ years. I know my mom is still on hers, and even my grandmother and grandfather are still on theirs. I guess it also ties into genetics, personally I would never choose to live without them.

Short answer, no.

I had to stop taking the latest one I was on because it lowered my seizure threshold. 😥 nearly all anti depressants do this, so I guess I will have to learn to live without them from now on 💔

Before, I thought I just had general depression. So I was put on and antidepressant. Then we found out I was bipolar, and my antidepressant was making me MANIC, so I had to stop taking them.

I've been taking them for 4 years now and I was wondering whether or not I should try to stop and see how I'll manage but honestly I am just too scared to be imbalanced again.

For a short period of time, I tried not using antidepressants but eventually, my anxiety came back. Since then I use my medicine regularly.

No. I've been on them consistently in some shape or form for over 8 years. I'll likely be on antidepressants for the rest of my life.

Yes. It helped at first then made me feel sluggish, constantly hungry and slowed down my metabolism. I gained a ton of weight so I tapered off of it. It was difficult for 2-3 weeks and then I felt a sense of relief. I felt like myself again.
