Sometimes it takes longer to realize your mental health isn't as good as it could be. I was struggling for 9 years before I was diagnosed.

Dont worry! My aunt went over 3 decades without knowing. The beauty is, now that we do know, it can be properly treated :)

i honestly didn’t think i had it even when i got diagnosed with it. it took me maybe a full year to realize i had it.. i hope i can find a treatment that works for me bc i’m so young and i don’t wanna live like this forever

I think it's because we stay on high alert so I know I have a hard time thinking outside my thoughts that are racing.

It's a very common thing especially with ptsd, your brain tends to push that stuff out to keep you and your mental health "safe" but a HUGE step forward is realizing that you do have this illness, and another step forward is to take action to help sooth the symptoms along with it, it can and will be harsh at times, but as you go through with healing, your mind will definitely thank you. Much luck to you and everyone on here is rooting for you!
