I've been experiencing the same thing! Does the pain also spread into your back/shoulders and sometimes jaw/neck? it's really unpleasant, I usually just take ibuprofen and tums at the same time and lay in bed w heating pad till it fades

I don't take painkillers because I'm scared of missing vital pain. Still not sure it isn't my heart, although I've had two ekg tests. Sometimes chest pain is sharp and in a small area and it can be close to or nowhere near a mealtime. Bizarre.

GERD can cause all kinds of strange and uncomfortable sensations. I've had the same issues for a while but tests on my heart have also come back fine. If you get really concerned though don't hesitate to go to the ER. It's better to be safe than sorry.
