I had that surgery. My recovery was terrible. It took me 5 months until I could finally use my right hand again, and I’m still doing physical therapy because my motion is still impaired.

I did have the surgery on Dec 8, 2021. Best decision for me. My husband is going through cancer treatment so i picked a time after a course of radiation for him when i knew we would be in a holding pattern for updated scans for him. I did spend 2 days/nights in the Hosp, mostly because of low oxygen issues. The pain after surgery was not much worse than before and of course I had better pain medicine than before. The brace/sling is very bulky and has been a problem of bumping it on things. (I also have only partially corrected astigmatism) I was told I could drive as soon as I stopped taking pain medicine so there was about 3 weeks without driving. I have not started PT yet. With the Holidays and a death in the family i put it off for5 weeks. I already have much more flexibility in my shoulder!! Even when washing/drying and curling my hair. I had always had pretty much shoulder length but had it cut into a neckline pixie because could not 'open' or 'lift' my right shoulder All of that is better now. The scar is not pretty, not sure how that is going to resolve, for now it has a keloid type hardness to it. It is about 6 or seven inches long on the front of my shoulder. I know I am good at making a short story ling6and I hope you made it to the end. From my experience, the reverse shoulder replacement is just what the Dr ordered and I am happy with my results!
