What tests were done to get your rheumatology diagnosis?

What tests were done to get your diagnosis? I'm waiting to get into rhuematologist. I had a positive ANA and the antibodies and on the tier SSA antibodies is what showed up. I've been looking at symptoms and a lot of it matches with this disease. But I'm curious of everyone else

I had an ANA (took me ten years after symptoms began for this to be done after begging to have it checked) which was positive, and on the reflex panel my anti-RNP antibody was positive. That along with symptom history have me a dx of MCTD.

My primary doctor did the ANA and automatically diagnosed me with lupus because he had no clue what the antiRNP meant. The rheumatologist said he’d never had a patient with MCTD and admitted I’d have a hard time finding one that is knowledgeable about it. You’ve gotta do a lot of research yourself unfortunately.

I’m looking for more information about this.. my first results came from my primary care doctor.. the ANA was positive and I was positive for RNP antibodies.. I was referred to rheumatologist and he redid the ana but not the RNP .. my ana was negative that time.. which was a year later! And I still have RNP antibodies now..
