Seeking Help for Possible OCD Symptoms

how do I go about speaking to someone about the possibility of ocd? I've only just realised that what I've been experiencing could be ocd. I have thoughts that come out of nowhere, and I end up thinking and worrying about them for ages. sometimes something, e.g a hair, or cracks in the pavement etc feel so wrong that I have to fix it (pulling hairs and causing more damage), touch it until it feels right or completely avoid it (this often causes more problems). I also find it almost impossible to shake off ridiculous thoughts like thinking I'd left my dog alone in the woods after a day out and crying because he is in danger and would hate me forever even though he is sat right next to me and definitely not stuck in the woods. but I don't know how to approach a doctor or therapist without feeling like I'm just crazy or exaggerating.
