Sensory Issues and Overeating: Seeking Advice

Does anyone else have problems with eating? I don’t have an eating disorder but I have sensory issues that lead me to eat often to stimulate my taste sense since it’s constantly understimulated as part of my autism. However, I also seem to have a problem where my GI tract seems to take longer than normal to process food. In short, I’m in a cycle where I eat a lot cuz I need to taste something but then I’m in physical pain because my body can’t handle so much food. Does anyone have any advice on how I can stimulate my sense of taste without eating so often?

I have it. There’s 3 factors to it, but you only need one to have to have the disorder. Mine is sensory & lack of interest. Feel free to look into it.

I’ll definitely check it out. So far I’ve just been chalking it up to my autism making me want to taste something and my EDS making my body unable to deal with food well

Glad you don't have an eating disorder. I recently found out my anorexia was due to my sensory issues with texture of food and that was a total aha moment and currently working on finding a way to fix it because I've gone to one extreme to the other.. as for not eating much when I was younger I would get texture safe candy and mix them all together in a giant ziplock bag and snack throughout the day (fruit flavored in one bag and another bag for chocolate ext.) I found that the surprise of just grabbing and going then trying to figure what I was eating helped alot
